Have you ever really really wanted something.......

and the want only got more intense when you saw an even prettier version of said thing you want so badly?????  Well, I have been wanting a KitchenAid Artisan Mixer for evvvvvvvvvvvverrrrrrrrrrrrr!!  I've never invested in one because, well, I just don't cook that much and if I am going to spend that kind of money on something it is going to be on my business, or ummm shoes.

This morning I was living the dream and vegging on the couch, curled up in my blankie, drinking a cup of coffee, watching my favorite show that has not been on for a couple of months, The Pioneer Woman on the Food Channel.  (Check your local listings!)   As I watched her country goodness, I decided to pull up her blog.  As I perused her beautiful and informative posts I came across one about this mixer.  Well, let's just say, I had to pick my jaw up off my keyboard.  Isn't it purtyyyyyy???!!!  I mean really, wouldn't that just look great on anyone's counter!?!?!  I MUST have one!!!!

Tell me about something you have always wanted, but never went ahead and purchased.  I'm curious!!  Truly!

As I am typing this I am now watching Suze Orman's Money Class, so trust me, I won't be buying one anytime soon.  :(  Suze always smacks me back to reality!

On another note!  We've added some new products to the website this week!  One of my favorites is our new Sideways Cross Necklace!!!  So sweet!

Have an awesome Saturday!!!     ~Steph

Super Easy Pasta Salad

Summer may be coming to an end, but great salad eating isn't!  I love Pasta Salad and I have a super easy recipe to share with you!

Ingredients:
1 Bag or Box of Tri Color Rotini
1 Bottle of Your Favorite Italian Dressing
Vegetables of your choice.  I use what I have around.
Suggestions:  Roma Tomato, Carrot, Celery, Green or Red Pepper, Cucumber, Broccoli, Red Onion (not much), Black Olive

Now what:
Cook your noodles according to the package instructions, while you have that going on, chop up your clean veggies to bite size pieces.  When it comes to how much of the veggies to add that is totally your choice, I like tons of them in mine.  Then when your noodles are done, strain them and rinse with cold water.  Make sure they are completely drained and pour them in to your biggest bowl....trust me, it will need to be a big bowl!  Once you have done all that jazz, add your veggies and then pour on half of your dressing and stir.  If you feel like that is enough dressing then you are good, but if it isn't add until you like the amount....I usually use the entire bottle.  The noodles will soak up a lot of the dressing and that makes it even better the next day!

I love to make this when I know I am going to a potluck because it is easy, but remember it can get expensive if you use lots of veggies so maybe just save it for your family! ;-)  I also make this when I know I have a lot of fresh veggies that I am not going to have an opportunity to use up before they go bad.  This is great for brown bag lunches and for a full meal you can add some sliced ham chopped up and some shredded cheddar cheese.  Give it a try and let me know what you think.  Nom Nom! :-)

*Disclaimer:  This pic was taken with my cell phone in my super tiny kitchen....notice the microwave takes up 90% of the available counter space! I only have 2 drawers, and they will comfortably hold a box of ziplocs and roll of foil.  Yay Me! :-P

Life Lessons

My sweet Aunt recently sent this to me. It is a list of 45 life lessons and is very poignant, so I wanted to share it with all of you!

Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio .

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Each of the 45 are so true! I can think of several more things I like to keep in mind as I go through life. I would love to hear your opinions on life lessons! I have a saying that I sometimes forget but it goes like this, "the toes you step on today may be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow!" When I've reacted without thinking I realize I have forgotten my little saying and immediately feel bad. Reacting is something I have struggled with my entire life, I've never been the type that could think through my thought before it popped out my mouth. One of these days I will have it down... ;)

The beautiful postcard I used on this post can be found in AmeliaKayPhotography's Etsy shop. Check out all of her wonderful work!
